Giuseppe Tartini’s 30 Sonate Piccole were written in Padua in the last 15 years of his life. They remain one of the largest sets of solo violin works by any composer; effectively musical self-portraiture, full of references to the literature the composer loved, and folk music of the northern Balkans where he was born in 1694

Sadie Harrison’s Herbarium was inspired by the Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens in Cornwall, where it was premiered this July. The newest miniature from Michael Alec Rose’s Polyptych was written to be played next to a Salviati tapestry at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts (MIA) in August
