This is the slow movement of the concerto which the much-missed Peter Dickinson wrote for my boyhood teenager, the greatest of all English violinists. Ralph Holmes. He made chamber version for Roderick and me after circumstances prevented my recording the orchestral version. You will notice Beethoven hiding in here – the Spring Sonata, which Ralph and Peter loved to play together. I miss them both, very much. So this is a lovely way to remember two great musicians, and great teachers.
