Michael Alec Rose-Three Short Obsessions
Michael Alec Rose-Three Short Obsessions
Live performance. London 2005. Engineer-Jonathan Haskell
This short piece was the beginning of my collaboration with Nashville-based composer Michael Alec Rose. It was written for a wonderful project based in Mexico City, and organised by the British Council.
The first performances took place in the context of ‘Sodio e Asfalto’, an exhibition at the Rufino Tamayo Gallery, in the summer of 2004. Since then I have played this powerful set of miniatures all over the world.

- Michael’s music is profoundly influenced by the landscape and geology of the US and the UK. He spends much time in the exquisite woodlands around Nashville, which is distinguished by extraordinary rock formations, such as this. Photo: Marius Skaerved
