In 2005, I was invited to Skopje to play a concert of new Macedonian music. One of the pieces that I played there was Mihailo Trandafilovski’s ‘Duo No 1′ for Violin and Piano. I was not able to spend time with the composer there, but a few weeks later, I invited him to the RAM to take part in a SOUNDBOX session. My collaboration with Mihailo began with that conversation.
