Marcin Banasik-Strength

I met Marcin Banasik when he was still a student at York University. ‘Strength’ comes from a st of three pieces  called Three Candlesticks. It is written on a visually arresting graphic score, laid out like a maze. There are limited options as to the paths that the player has to choose through the music in real time. Some of these lead up musical culs-de-sac, leaving one turning frantically on the spot to find a way out. The result is, for the player, an escalating rush of excitement.
