Last night Thomas Simaku won the BCA award for an an instrumental solo or duo, with his Soliloquy 5, Flauto Acerbo. Congratulations!Thomas has been working with the Kreutzers and Peter for many years. The quartet released a portrait disc of Simaku’s on Naxos last year. Simaku dedicated his 2nd quartet to him and his concerto to Peter. This was premiered three years ago with the Athelas Sinfonietta in Copenhagen. Only last month, the Kreutzers were playing his A2, which they premiered earlier this year in London, at the Jack Lyons Hall, York University.
